Care Navigator and Cila
Cila
The role of the Community Information Liaison Assistant known as the Cila is to source and collate information of local
services and activities available for older people in Shepway. This information will be used to compile a Directory.
This Directory is placed in Hubs throughout Shepway, such as libraries and health centers. The information detailed
in the directory will include services, medical needs, social needs and useful contacts, plus hobbies and activities.
There will also be a section of safe life style tips. The aim of this directory is to empower people and maintain independence,
problem solve, highlight issues and give direction. If you would like your service to be advertised in this directory, or for more information, please contact John Brooks on 01303 269602 or email cila@acshepway.co.uk
Care Navigator
The Care Navigator service is for the older adult providing a free one-to-one meeting to discuss problems or needs.
It aims to empower people by offering them information and options to access services that help meet their needs.
Meetings and information is given free, impartially and confidentially through a visit to the home or at local Age Concern’s
between 9am and 4pm, Mon - Fri.
For help and assistance, or for more information, please contact Louise Homewood on 01303 269602 or email carenav@acshepway.co.uk
Both projects are funded by the Dept of Health under the INVOKE Project (Independence through the Voluntary Action of Kent’s Elders)
